Jake has been playing music since he was a young child. Beginning within the piano finding with an old- school dirty blues style early on. It was during this time he founding a passion for storytelling, and he expressed himself through his songs, which have the power to captivate an audiences from the beginning to end. He sings with soul, and strums away on his guitar, and producing a dusty sound that will put you in a good place somewhere out west.
In mid 2014 Jake joined forces with heavy hitter Kevin Parks playing on the drums and the two started recording an eight track EP. Shortly after Evan Cheadle brought his diverse musical experience and talent to form a musical trifecta. Evan has performed in various groups, in an array of styles from Blues, Folk and Gypsy Jazz to R&B all the while developing his craft as a songwriter.
Evan has released two CDs, his first, a self-titled compilation of mainly traditional folk and blues material. His second CD, “Make Your Way”, all original material, was released in early 2015. Evan and Jakes musical relationship dates back to 2010. The two recorded and preformed as members of the Rock & Roll group called Heavy lemon. Cheadle has enjoyed picking up bass guitar for this project as well as the quality of songwriting Jake continues to deliver and the textured rhythmic styling of Kevin Parks.
The three have since been rocking shows In Victoria getting audiences very excited with their music, which has been described as a rootsy, Americana, Folk Rock. The song writing moves from sweet love songs to heavy hitting, and often lyrically dark tunes. Tan & Hide really are a sound of their own, so prepare to let the soul and rhythm boom across the room and strike a feeling in you.
